RIM is no more, the company rebrands itself as ‘BlackBerry’

RIM is now BlackBerry. CEO Thorsten Heins announced during the BlackBerry 10 event that Research in Motion will no longer be the name of the company, and will be called BlackBerry instead.

“We have reinvented the company, and we want to represent this in our brand. One brand. One promise. Our customers use a BlackBerry, our employees work for BlackBerry, and our shareholders are owners of BlackBerry.

The company’s stock symbols will also reflect the change, and will now be listed as BB on TSX and BBRY on the NASDAQ. For more on this whole name change, check out the video below!

    @mukhi: @Mike: From what I am seeing so far, Z10 + BB10 looks pretty good. However, as with all platforms, it all comes down to two things: third-party developer support and the ability to get the phone into hands of consumers via carriers.
