A ‘salt flat’ is a large area of land where the evaporation of some body of water has left large deposits of salt. At an area of 10,582 square kilometers (4,086 sq mi), Salar de Uyuni (located in Potosi and Oruro areas of southwest Bolivia) is the largest salt flat in the world. And at an elevation of 3,656 meters (11,995 ft), Salar de Uyuni has an excellent view of the blue sky. So when it rains during rainy season, the ground of Salar de Uyuni behaves almost like a mirror, reflecting the sky to create an amazing sight. Check it out:
