Samsung Galaxy S IV just got all its specs leaked… it has an 8-core processor (!) [Rumor]

Were you excitedly waiting for Samsung’s Galaxy S IV launch event in New York? Then get a load of this: Someone in possession of the device (reportedly a prototype), has leaked the device’s specifications 2 weeks ahead of the announcement.
If this is indeed a Galaxy S IV, and if Samsung doesn’t change its specs before launch, here’s what you can expect from the next big flagship phone: 4.99-inch screen at 1920 x 1080 resolution, 8-core Exynos 5410 chipset at 1.8GHz, PowerVR SGX 544 graphics processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, GSM and LTE capabilities and Android 4.2.

True or not, we don’t have to wait much longer for the official word on the Galaxy S IV. Samsung’s launch event for the device kicks off at 7pm on March 14.
Judging from almost every single comment on any article about the Galaxy S IV, Samsung only needs to one thing to guarantee that it exceeds sales of the previous Galaxy: use any material but plastic. There you go Samsung, check’s in the mail!

I wish it hadn’t gotten bigger. I’m beginning to think that the sweet spot is at 4.5″ or so.
[@naveed] I’m with you. I think smartphones are becoming *too* big. In my opinion, 4 – 4.3″ is best but I can see 4.5″ too. 5″ for a smartphone is way too big.
Interesting how, even with 2x as many cores, the Galaxy S IV doesn’t show that much of a significant lead over LG Optimus G. This could be because AnTuTu and/or Android are not optimized for 8-cores yet or it could be that the 8-core rumor is fake. After all, even desktops/laptops aren’t at 8-cores yet.
[@Ashraf] I read somewhere that the other 4 cores were “power-saving” cores, similar to the architecture in NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 but with 4 instead of 1.
Definitely agree on the screen size! 4.5″ max.
I like bigger screens for better readability. 4.5 to 5 would be appealing to me. Waiting on LG F7 with a 4.7 screen and hopefully its the el cheapo phone I’ve been wanting otherwise I’ll be getting a Samsung galaxy grand duos (multiple SIMs have their use in my country)… I don’t see much of a practical use for quad cores though aside from sucking up battery life, even if they’re all the rage.
