Hi Ashraf, In AU its ELMS for MSDNAA . I wasn't aware that the Education dept. had to pay for me but I did see in the newspapers that when MR Gates came to Australia he gave donations to the poor ( computers for the homeless lol ) The homeless of Melbourne were lucky. Yes, I did find it hard to find out whats available as well as the site just has a search box and you just keep asking to find out whats available, but something that I did notice on a google search was that Paralells for MAC was available on a student discount at a college in Adelaide for around 30 to 40 dollars from memory , and over here a student card works nationwide, so I was half thinking of ruining my mac by putting windows on it. But after my recent troubles with windows Ive changed my mind. Did you know memberships disappeared as well as posts recently?

@Waynos: Did you grab it from MSDNAA? That is were I got my Windows 7 for "free" (I put "free" in quotes because someone had to pay for the MSDNAA subscription, it just wasn't me), it was Professional tho -- I wasn't aware they have Ultimate on there.

Mac's usually don't need anti-virus. Not because they are less susceptible to them, but because fewer viruses are written to attack Macs because they are not as ubiquitous. However, as (and if) Apple gains market share, that will change and viruses will be written for Macs. But for now, safe surfing should be fine.

In addition to Boot Camp, you can also buy software such as Parallels that allow you to run Windows in a VM so that you don't have to reboot to access Windows. But unless you need a program that exists only for Windows, why bother?

Also, Windows does not come in a "free" version. So while it is possible that you would be transferring a valid (paid for) Windows license from another PC, talking about a "free" version of Windows makes me a little suspicious. Please do not post anything on dotTech that even refers to software not obtained by legal means (apology in advance if I mistook your statement, but we try hard to keep dotTech clean).

Me thinks you don't need one for Mac. Just be smart about web-surfing. Dual boot is nice, but requires some *tinkering* which you will need to read up on (ex: Boot Camp). Oh and use an antivirus on the Windows partition if you decide to dual boot.
