I find that my favorites, and bookmarks are a complete mess in their respective browsers and no matter how I try to organize them it still remains a guess, think, hunt, and peck operation to try and find what I'm looking for.

I want to throw away the chains and shackles of browser link systems.

My idea is, to transfer the whole lot to some type of web site that offers free web hosting (if that is the correct term) like Tripod/lycos or similar,

I was with them back in the netherdays of the web then they had a restructuring and I left that go.

It just came to me, that I even have a web account with My DSL provider, maybe I should crank that back up.

As you can probably tell I am at a loss as to what to do.

Can anyone point out advantages/disadvantages to the saving of links in this fashion?

For bookmarks stored on Mozilla Firefox, comes an addon XMarks. For syncing tabs, bookmarks, history etc. use Mozilla weave.Opera bookmarks can be exported to Firefox easily.Firefox bookmarks can be exported to Google chrome easily which can be printed in HTML format later to pdf and then hard copy etc.Chrome bookmarkscan be saved to a free Google account .I never use IE,but they must be exportable.Maxthon bookmarks are always with you.Cometbird and others are rarely used.BookmarksI hope are not that big a problem now

It'll do for now, but I can already see it's going to be too small at 10Meg.

google has free web space, that's where I'm going next.

Check the web site forum Here, that's where I'll post a link.
