Sorry but another issue.  I burned a dvd with just this clip on it.  It plays great on my computer but tried to play on tv and would not work.  Do I need to do another conversion with Format Factory.  It is a WMV file.  Burned on Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010.

Remember most DVD players will play DVD's with the .VOB file format. You would need to create a DVD with whichever software you are using (if they have that option). I usually use NeroVision for that purpose. You can't just burn the file on a DVD, the option would be to create a DVD-video.

You would be fine only if your DVD player supports Wmv, Dvix, Xvid or Avi playback.

What you need is DVD Authoring software. If you search dotTech, Ashraf has a pretty good article on the difference between just burning a disk and authoring a disk.

aShampoo makes a pretty good one as does Digiarty (WinX software). But I’d first check if your burning software has an option to author a DVD.

Thanks Karen. I've been wanting to burn DVDs using just my laptop, skipping my external DVD burner ever since I got this laptop but never figured out what I was doing wrong.

I just downloaded and installed WinX DVD Author from the dotTech article. Now to give it a test…

Thanks everyone.  I was able to extract and then uploaded to you tube.  I have all the programs known to mankind to burn so only need to work on.  Believe in one of Ashraf's articles he explains all of the different formats in Format Factory so only need to research and study.

Again thanks Wheezer for the excellent video.  I have been trying to do this for a long time and there is a event we are preparing for.  I simply cannot express how much this means to our family.

Actually, any basic video editor with the Crop option will do the trick.
