My internet is working fine now (my dad called our internet provider and they fixed it) so downloads are no longer a problem. Anyway, most of the suggestions work on VOB files (if only WinX outputted to VOB) and I don't have enough memory or time to convert the 3 hour movie. What I finally ended up doing was going to http://www.subtitlesource.org and searching for my movie and downloading the subtitles. It was very easy. For those of you that this subtitle site doesn't have your movie, I suggest ripping to VOB in the first place. Thanks to Locutus and phoenix for their suggestions.

Some may only work on avi files (not sure). If so, you can convert them with FormatFactory or iWisoft.

Also, it mostly works on stuff ripped from tv shows (MythTV). I tried importing the file and, not messing with any options, the output was 0 bytes and empty. I'm pretty sure I did it wrong. I'm sorry if this post is difficult to understand, I'm in a rush.

When I watch this file in VLC media player, I can turn on subtitles. How do I extract the subtitles into a *.srt file? I'd rather not download anything more because my internet isn't working correctly. Is there a way to extract these subtitles using VLC or one of the many Video Converters that dotTech has offered as a giveaway? Thanks in advance.
