Free Video trimmer/splitter?

I am looking for a good free tool that will trim/split video without compromising the quality or format of the video. I used Windows Live Movie Maker but it converts all of the videos to .wmv format.

Something like a freeware alternative to Boilsoft Video Splitter which "…is a powerful video cutter to
