Thanks Amnesia, I appreciate the time!

I surely did, Amnesia. Alas, for this particular model the manual only comes in Chinese. I used Google translate to be able to read it, but all the text overlaps so that was no good. And I don't have time to input each individual bit of text and then paste it into a document. But I'll get there ... nothing like a bit of trial and error!

Many thanks, my guru of all things beyond my technologically challenged brain! It is a Samsung Anycall. I also like the little poking stick that comes with it to use on the touch screen ... now if I can just work out all the functions, all will be sweet (the manual is in Chinese as my partner got it in Beijing).

Well, welcome to the 21st century, Ozzie! My lovely partner decided that my ancient phone was beyond looking at (despite my protestations that as long as it worked I didn't see the sense in getting another one) and bought me a flash new Samsung smart phone - so smart in fact that I feel like a real dummy trying to work out what all the functions for! So that offer to buy my old one still stands - anyone from the Smithsonian interested?

You're a hard man to please, Ashraf. But I can understand that it's probably too technologically advanced a phone for most people to get their heads around.

Haha, I am amused by that.

Anyway, Ashraf, why not check out Sony Ericsson phones...they are pretty good. I am personally using W910i, it's a Walkman phone. Sony phones are generally 'grouped' into two categories, namely Walkman series and CyberShot series. Walkman series are targetted for those music lovers while CyberShot phones are meant more for photo-addicts.

I can't say for sure which is the best but you might wanna take a look at W518A. See details here:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cw.....&cc=us

Check other Sony phones here:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cw.....&lc=en

Hope that helps.

Ozzie said:

Well, it's not a deal I'd make just anyone, but because you're a nice guy, Ashraf, here goes:

For a pretty good blackmarket price, I'd be prepared to part with my current phone - a very stylish (at least in 1992) Nokia, bought secondhand in 1994. It has many useful and time-saving features that will leave you salivating and make your friends green with envy:

- You can make outgoing calls;

- You can take incoming calls;

- You can send text messages (with up to 160 characters per message! That's right, 160 characters per message!);

- You can play some of the most entertaining games imaginable - snake; memory card match!

- You can choose one of five - that's right, five! - super electronic ringtones ... all of which are bound to have people bopping around next to you!

Oh, there's just too many features to list here! And is it ever small - put it in your bag and who'd know you were carrying around something other than a housebrick!

It breaks my heart to part with this little beauty, but far be it from me to be selfish when I heard of your plight.

So Ashraf, if you're interested (and, hey, you'd probably want to get in quick because once people read this, I'll be inundated with offers), let's talk numbers.

Yes, I know, I'm a hell of a gal!

L.O.L. That really made me rofl. Thanks but I will have to pass . I hope someone else gets in on this amazing offer .
