When you first install Online Armor you need to either run system safety check or do a trust all install (if you are sure your system is free of malware). I keep a close on on my systems so I use the trust all install which usually goes much easier. They are putting a lot of effort into making it ask fewer questions in newer versions; I would check if you have the latest version. Also, if you are using the free version you can do an upgrade install which installs over the top (this works with the other versions also, though they also have the additional method of saving and restoring settings; something the free version can not do), but only do this if everything is working properly as it won't rescan your hard drive to locate programs. Also when a dialog box pops up look for the check box to trust and remember this decision as it sounds like you may not have been doing that. Hopefully this will be enough to fix the issues, but if not definitely go to the forums, they are a very friendly place. BTW, I am a member there also. Good luck.

Hi Ashraf and thanks for the response. I went in looking for the Hips, couldn't find it but did a few "unclicks and clicks" eventually I was getting "cannot display page" (would serve me right if it displayed "cannot display brain") but I got that back to working again and hopefully it won't "nickle and dime" me anymore. When it was "not displaying" I was at that time trying to get into the forum. And that's my next try, if this still persists I'll look through their forum, thanks again for your valuable service...

It is Online Armor's HIPS protection. I don't know exactly what it is called, so I can't tell you exactly what to turn off, but you need to look for their HIPS protection component and turn it off. The best place to find out how is OA's forums.

Everything (just about, literally) I click on OAPro will ask for permission, or to "trust" or "trust any associated target" "allow"....what happened to firewalls that just knew what to do? I like this firewall (pretty much from reviews that it is really great) even though I don't know alot about firewalls. But I know that some will know what to automatically allow without having to ask over and over again. And yes, it seems to ask about the same program at times, but this could be my imagination from the repeated asking.

I've looked through the control page, can't find where there might be something checked off or not checked off that might cure this. Anyone suggest what I should do to give it "permission to make it's own decisions?" I recently just had to reinstall it a few days ago so at that point it was in a learning mode. It could be still in that mode. I don't think that would make any difference because prior to that it was behaving the same way. If this is the way it is suppose to function (doesn't seem like that's the way it was when I first installed several months ago, seemed like it was on it's own most of the time....what happened since then??) I guess I would look for another less demanding firewall. I know PC tools is a highly rated firewalll but I don't think it's as good or secure as Online Armor Pro....like to keep this one if I can get it right.
