hi guys
Ashraf, firstly I wanted to say thanks for the updated 12 protection programs list. i especially like seeing what the keyscrambler turns what I type into. is there something that can do it for your entire computer?
Now to what I really posted this for. I recently bought crysis, and it runs smoothly on high detail. but me being the perfectionist, i want it to run smoothly on very high, and also want to be ready to run Crysis 2 when it comes out.
so, my question is this:
Is there a way to make a shortcut or an auto event that, when crysis loads, sets windows to the most basic settings, to free up disk/memory access, and also maximises the amount of memory crysis can have?
I've got the latest asus n61VN, with a quad core processor the q9000 (not overclocked), a 1GB NVIDIA graphics card, the gt240m, and I'm running the 64 bit windows 7.
I realise it's a bit of a big ask, but if anyone knows how to, you will.

OfflineHey sean,
i've played crysis and i know how demanding it is of memory and such, at the moment i use Tuneup Utilities 2010, just because of its live optimisation, BUT the programs that i use most for any game i play are IObit Game Booster, which is the perfect program for gaming and is exactly what you want, it turns off all unnecesary background apps and tasks and changes the theme to basic instead of aero, it now also defrags the memory, everytime i use it, it releases about 136Mb of my memory. Trust me out of all of IObits programs this is the best………..for me anyway.

The second thing i would reccomend although it is optional is Cleanmem or cleanmem portable, i use the portable version and it is just like ashraf said, it comes and go's in about half a second and lowers the memory usage of all your apps, i saw apps using about 110,000k of memory drop to about 20,000k. I would go with the install version if you can't be bothered setting it to run automatically yourself, but i prefer portables.
Here is the link to the article about cleanmem:

I know the article is from last year but it is still a dottech favourite and is also my favourite.
Trust in a fellow gamer,
Cheers

Like COnn said, Gamebooster is the way to go.
Many have tried before you, but only the few have succeeded. I wish you godspeed in your quest for max-graphics Crysis. (T_T)7
Thanks Pwnana for agreeing,
@Sean:
And as Pwnana said Good luck with the max graphics crysis, if you manage it make sure to tell us.

If you already have a copy of ioBit's Advanced System Care Pro, it includes GameBooster (under the Utilities tab). Not sure if the free version includes it or not.
Hey Karen! As you mentioned it’s included in the Pro version, but you can also D/L it separately for free.
