OfflineI need a good FREE pop up blocker.
I asked this question in the Prevention, detection, and cure: area but I did not get a response. Soooo I am just going to keep on pestering until someone gets tired of me and answers my question.
I get these popups from netflix and one with smiley things. These are the only ones. I am not sure which sites, it gets to be annoying.
While I am waiting, I will just sit over here and pout since I have been ignored.

Congrats on the NERD upgrade. See. I told you you'd be so amazed at how much better life becomes now.
Here's one that I was going to start a topic on because I've been trying out many, & I'm sure there are better PAID programs available, but its absolutely the best free, easy to use, & very small download, blocker for what I wanted. My biggest pet peeve was my email acounts that I visit so often started getting worse with the flashy sh*t & "OH BOY, you are the millionth viewer you've won a prize!!! (Especailly, like 6 months later--same millionth viewer). And the flash ads & other animation & …………..is so annoying.
It's simply an ad blocking prgram called……..Simple Adblock!!
"Simple Adblock is an adblocker extension for Internet Explorer designed to make adblocking easy. Simple Adblock blocks all kinds of advertising from websites including flash ads, banner ads, rich media, slide-ins and fly-ins."
and there's:
"Adblock plus is the most popular adblocker available for Firefox. It is an Open Source project being maintained by Wladimir Palant, and if you are using Firefox it is highly recommended:"
If you try it out, let me know what you think of it!

OfflineHey Ebony!
Of course, now that you are already an official 'nerd,' your long hard struggle, burdened by the heavy yoke of ONLY being 'new around here,' when you doubted that you would ever see the light of day again, can now & forever become but a distant memory.
In fact, you owe yourself a real special git, just for you! But please, don't ever turn your back on the legions of anonymous people who can but claim one thing, "I'm new around here."

I will never forget from whence I came. I am ever so humbled by promotion
As for the "I'm new around here" community, I am appointing myself as a committee of "1" to roll out the red carpet and welcome them with a beverage of choice, or should just make that ice cream.
Now as for the committee of 1, that committee is open ended. Any takers?
We need a hug or a handshake thingie for the welcome committee.

But make sure you disable AdBlock on dotTech. Ashraf doesn't have any popups, and I think we all own him the little bit of revenue he gets from the ads.
Morning Ms Karen
Good nugget Karen, I learned how I should tell Adblockplus to behave.
By all means, Ashraf has the green light on Adblockplus from me.
Have a bev of choice on me.

For AdBlock, it's easy. Just right-click the icon in the browser status bar and select the option to allow ads.
It truly is easy. On some sites you may want to temporarily disable Adblock, again just right click & presto. I mean, it couldn't get much simpler! It is so small, it took maybe 4 minutes to download & install (DSL 'lite' for me), & ready to work. For free, it is quite impressive; actually, what more could a paid program do?
