Any suggestions?

You are both right, I don't use google and don't want to use it, I am a creature of habit. I use firefox and now that I have learned it, just too lazy to learn another browser. The idea of switching back and forth is too hard.
Whine

There is a program called bablon (??) I want something similar to that.
Maybe I am wishing for something that does not exist.

Wait, what?
Who ever said anything about switching to Chrome? That link works in Firefox-Chrome-Opera-IE-etc!
Offlinefirefox has many translation tools, some of them are real monsters in features!
check them out one by one. No need to get babylon or another software.
eg:
BabelFish Instant Translation :: Add-ons for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7004
FoxLingo :: Add-ons for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2444
I have tried many, but finally stick to the "simple" and fast "quick translator" addon.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/58606
hope that helps :-)

OfflineFoxLingo is a gem. It includes several other usefull functions – e.g. Dictionary, Grammar check etc. BUT it is another toolbar up there; not to the liking of some.
If it bothers you, just click f11 to go full screen and same to return normal view, believe me, it works wonderfully.
Find @ Add-ons for Firefox
OfflineI looked at this one, sounds good but I was browsing the reviews, one stated that it slows down browsing (admit that the comment was rather old). However the developer did respond stating that the problem would be address. Do you encounter any probs with it slowing down browsing and bloating?
@Karen

Thanks for helping me, I have taken all the suggestions and trying to come up with the path of least resistance.

That bookmarklet Ashraf & I wrote about doesn't do anything until you say you want it translated. Absolutely nothing. It doesn't use up any resources!
