OfflineI came across this in one of the articles on here and I thought it looked like something I can use since I am always wanting to try out new FREE SW.
Needless to say I could not get my setting right because I was not sure of what to set or what rationale to apply to make a decision on setting.
I was left wondering, I am I going to get a new random email address for ever site I want to enter an address.
When it asked how long, is that how long for that site….etc.
If anyone feel so inclined to respond, I will tell you now I have a refreshment you might like.

OfflineHi ebony. It's up to you about the settings. Mine are set at:
Number of forwards: 4 (this allows for those software manufacturers who require you to register, then send you an email that you have to click on a confirmation link before they then send you a serial and then might send you another confirmation).
The lifespan is set to 1 day. But if I suspect or know that it might take a while for an email to arrive, I'll set it longer.
Challenge response is disabled.
The notification and send URL boxes are not ticked.
As for the name, I have a set prefix I use which is set though the options.
When asked how long, it means how long you want the trash email address to stay alive for.
I prefer the limited time/new address each time approach, but you can choose whatever option you want in that regard. In options, you have the choice of keeping a chosen trash email address alive forever, if you wish. Just check out "options". It's up to you.
Hope that helps.
I love Trashmail and the ease of being able to just one-click paste from the browser. I use it a lot.

This is the only part I did not understand.
"As for the name, I have a set prefix I use which is set though the
options."
I did see the prefix in options, so should I just leave the prefix as is?
I set my options as I was reading your reply
Thanks phoenix and freewarelite.

OfflineI finally got around to reading the article Ashraf wrote about Trashmail way back when.
I had used another site a few times so thought I'd just continue using that. Trashmail looks a lot more convenient and user friendly. I've installed the FF add-on and will be using it from now on.
Thanks to Ozzie (wherever she may be) for making Ashraf aware of this add-on, and to Ashraf for writing the article.
Sure wish I would have used Trashmail when I signed up with Ashampoo the first time.
