Hi!

I haven't needed to do much video editing so haven't used these. Cnet lists only 3 video editors which work with Win7. They are iWisoft Video Converter, SolveigMM Avi Trimmer 1.6.912.18 & VideoPad Video Editor Basic 2.06.

Avidemux 2.5.2 does not work with Win7. Try to avoid FormatFactory since Secunia Personal Software Inspector 1.5.0.0 shows it as "end of life".

Hi Ramesh!

Secunia Personal Software Inspector 1.5.0.0 often shows something as "end of life," but that is not always the case, though I can't specifically remember the last one I saw.

Similar to A/V false-positives or WOT warnings.

Taken with……….grains of salt.

I needed a video splitter for a job I was doing for a client, but didn't want to spend the $$$ for a one time use. I tried about 3 or 4 (including FF) which didn't do a proper job, mostly the problem came in with re-encoding the part I wanted to cut. The rencoding messed up the audio sync with the video.

Haha, that's for sure. i got the audio synced perfectly, then realise both ends were out of sync XD

I'll have a look at that. thanks :)

You probably got them from freebies then. There was also a Magix Movie Edit freebie posted a while ago.

If your looking for just a video splitter, I'd recommend the trial version of Allok Video Splitter. http://www.alloksoft.com/splitter.htm

And is supposed to work on Win 7.

Then I found Allok Vision Splitter. The trail version will allow you to cut the first 50% of your selection. So what I did was double my selection to get what I wanted cut.

And it didn't re-encode the selection. You may not need to worry about the re-encode part since you want to get rid of the ads.

thanks for the tip pwnana, byt Avidemux 2.5.2 broke my video! :o (well, actually it plays the sound in the end version at 2X speed)

Also Avidemux 2.5.2 doesn't let me convert to ipod format, it breaks it, and I have to re-convert.

I like WinX converter/dvd ripper, but the converter playes the sound at a 1.5 second delay, unacceptable for close up shots!

Locutus, how do you cut video segments out in format factory? I select the segment, and press ok, but it does nothing. Would you be able to help me out?

Ramesh, thanks for that list, i'll be having a look at thoose, and i'll report back what they are like.

Refpunk, i'll have a look at that too :)
