Avidemux 2.5.2 does not work with Win7. Try to avoid FormatFactory since Secunia Personal Software Inspector 1.5.0.0 shows it as "end of life".

Similar to A/V false-positives or WOT warnings.

Then I found Allok Vision Splitter.  The trail version will allow you to cut the first 50% of your selection.   So what I did was double my selection to get what I wanted cut.

 

And it didn't re-encode the selection.  You may not need to worry about the re-encode part since you want to get rid of the ads.

Also Avidemux 2.5.2 doesn't let me convert to ipod format, it breaks it, and I have to re-convert.

I like WinX converter/dvd ripper, but the converter playes the sound at a 1.5 second delay, unacceptable for close up shots!

Locutus, how do you cut video segments out in format factory? I select the segment, and press ok, but it does nothing. Would you be able to help me out?
