I just found this reference to an app. called: "DiffMerge".  This looks as if it can do a file compare and much more.

Incidently, the FreeCommander help file under "Settings", states:
      "You can configure an external file comparison program (like i.e. ExamDiff,
WinMerge, TextDiff, CSDiff) which is used to compare the contents of
two files (typically on a text level)."
I have not followed these up, but if they are stand-alone programs (i.e. not plug-ins), then these may do what you want.  Worth a Google, I would think.
Anyway, put up a post on how you get on, it might help someone else.  Smile

I am looking for
program which will compare two directories to identify duplicates and
differences. I understand earlier windows version of WinDiff
was published but not compatible for Vista. I did research in MS
support communities and etc but lost my confidence in finding a MS
solution. Do you guys/gals know any program you would recommend from
experience?
