OfflineIn my experience, Megaupload is the fastest sharer, but has a download size limit for free users (your sister) of 1gb. Unlimited upload size, though. If your files are to big to send, you can use HJ-Split or any archiver to split the files into more manageable pieces, which your sister can reassemble on her side.
OfflineHi Wheezer. Been doing some more targeted hunting and I think I may have found some potential winners (I hope).
First off is PipeBytes (http://host01.pipebytes.com/
I am quietly optimistic that you may find something suitable among these. If not, back to the drawing board.
Keep us posted!
OfflineHi Jeffinprov!
Just a couple of points on the "file sharing & file size thing" which might help you zero in ultimately to a solution which helps you:-
1) Different solutions are either free/paid, set ceiling limits upon upload &/or download limits
2) In the P2P arena there are a couple of different protocols & each protocol has its own proprietory client. These are:-

OfflineThis "file splitter joiner" point is a good point very well made. Btw it is extremely useful whether you use file sharing via P2P, FTP or through any genre or any protocol.
I mention point 4 only if some dottechies have allergies – not to any food item but dislike swimming in a sea of apps
just kidding!Ramesh
OfflineHi Wheezer!
You might well have hit bullseye by now. I'd suggested FileAI & File Dropper earlier & Ozzie too has run into it on the internet. Check it out. For FileAI download Java's latest runtime build from http://www.java.com

OfflineOzzie, at 200 posts you became a super-secret-super-geek. So super-secret in fact that your online title of geek doesn't appear to have changed.
However, once your super-secret-super-geek-spy-specticals arrive, via UPS, you'll be able to see your true title in the forums.
Geeze, I hope Ashraf doesn't ban me for giving away the secret…
Thanks for that last batch of options to check out. They do sound good. It might take a couple days for me to check them out tho. I got the official OK to make a website for a friend's restaurant this afternoon, so I'll be working on that a lot for the next few days.

Wow! That sounds waaaaay cooler than being just a plain old super geek! I'm gonna sit by the post box now to await the arrival of my super-secret-super-geek-spy specs (try to say that three times fast)! I'm so excited!

Right you are Ozzie right you are!
When I spoke to the bull though, he told me that he did not like it! What he (the bull I mean!
) said I could not gather exactly. I think he said something like "My eyes hurt" or something equally profound
LOL
Ramesh
ROFL!!!! I have no idea what the heck this post means! Oh Ramesh, you are priceless!
OfflineHi Ozzie!
I was referring to your post number 26 – Ozzie said "We gotta at least be close, right?!"
I jocularly replied to how we are close soulmates – including being close to the eyes of a bull!
While it makes for great feel good factor for you & me – look at it from the bull's point of view. Both of us most be a sight for "sore eyes" as far as he (the bull I mean!
) is concerned!

Hi my friend! Ok, got you now! My mind wasn't thinking that cryptically!
OfflineTake a look at Binfer. You drag and drop your files, specify users who should get them and leave it minimized in your tray. When your friend start Binfer, they get the files delivered straight to their computer. Its sort of a meld between Outlook and FTP but without the hassle of setting up servers and clients. The link is http://www.binfer.com.
OfflineThank you for the suggestion Neo.
Actually I checked out binfer fairly early on in my search. I can't remember the exact reason why it wouldn't work, just that it wouldn't.
I know a lot of the sites I checked out have a file size limit that is too small for what I was trying to do.
And either way, for now the problem has been worked around. My sister got tired of waiting and burnt the videos onto a disc, and then mailed it to me. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive, but at least it got done.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
OfflineWheezer, at the end of the day, the mission is important not the tools :-). Btw I am a huge fan of Binfer and use it regularly, coincidenty, to send and receive gigabytes of pictures & videos with my sister. It works really well for me. They keep releasing new versions frequently and you may have caught a buggy one. I myself had issues with one of the releases. Tip: They limit the free transfer to 4GB and dont have a paid version yet, but I send them feedback and they give me extra free usage ;-)
