Right on!!
I got to see Janis in Nashville just weeks before she died. And as I had been a fairly well connected 3rd/4th rate gee-tar & pie-anno player, active in the civil rights & women's rights movement (it was just beggining to flourish), & an ardent ant-war activist, I got to party with her (& some wild-as* groupies) after the concert!! [Man did she love Southern Comfort!......
but,... unfortunately, added to other "stuff" she was taking, it would soon become a fatal combination...... And same for Jimi Henrix....both were the very best, both were only 27 when they passed, & only months apart

@ yourpalal: I am green with envy.
Hey phoenix_rising!
I'll bet you've been to a few concerts too!!
I loved seeing the Stones in the late 60s (of course, now, they're IN their 60s!!)
, Airplane, Zappa, Zep, Allman Bros (b4 Duanne passed), Tull, original Skynard, Leon Russell--Joe Cocker, Joni Mitchell,………..
and Paul, George, & Ringo,….while I was so estatic that I did see them, tho.. unfortunately, all were only solos.
What are some of your favorites???
Offline@ yourpalal: Love the music, but before my time to see any of those perform live. Like I said, I love blues (John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, etc), blues rock, soul (of the classic variety). So take your pick from any of the greats of those genres. They're bound to be playing on my CD player on any given day.

However, when looking at your photograph, you do look no more than a 20-something!

That's a relief. Cyber stalker came to mind …
OH no, sometimes I'm just a "joker & a fool"…..
[See lyrics for "All Along the Watchtower."]
(Dylan) on John Wesley Harding. ..been covered by other artists in different genres, most notably by Jimi Hendrix.
OfflineThe only song I can sing and no one minds is H'Bday. (Which is my favorite song)

I have to agree that Aretha is queen of queens, a lot of singers claim they are the queen of blah blah, but Aretha can back up her claim.
Speaking of concerts, I have to plug the all time best for me was Pink Floyd and the light show was the icing on the cake. I sat in the rain on this one, it was just that good.
Eric Clapton, wow, went to his Nothing But the Blues concert, talk about rocking. I was sorry when it was over. I wish I could find that on CD DVD ????
OK not for the drum roll ……… John Lee Hooker, saw him up close and personal at a Hard Rock Cafe. He did all his hits.
