Hi folks! Don’t know if anyone is interested in this, but Ashampoo are giving away their Home Designer program V. 1.0 (value $19.95). According the blurb, it is:

” … is a professional-quality 3D home planning tool for everyone. It lets you experiment as much as you like with what fits and how it looks before spending a single cent on materials or services. The ability to look at the planned rooms outside and inside from every perspective helps to avoid expensive mistakes – it’s like being there, and it’s completely different from looking at pencil sketches on graph paper.

So if this sounds like something you could use, just go to http://www2.ashampoo.com/webca….._1_USD.htm

The web page is in German, but it should be fairly obvious what to do. After you fill in the blanks, you’ll get a confirmation email, in which you should click on the requisite link. You’ll then be taken to a page where you need to fill in some more details. When that’s done, you’ll get another email with the key. Then just install the program (http://download.cnet.com/Asham…..57021.html), input your licence key and it will be registered. Simple. Kinda.

Happy home designing!

A neighbor (carpenter) asked me recently for a similar program and I was about to get for him some cracked solutions…

I dont need such a program, but he will certainly appreciate it and I will know he will not have problems with an original software!

Thanks for the info, phoenix_rising !

@ jumbi: Oh great. You might want to put your neighbour on to these giveaways and freeware progs as well:

PCWTurboCAD: http://www.softwareparadise.co.uk/pages/PCWTurboCAD

progeCAD Smart! 2009: http://www.caddit.net/progecad/smart.php

Also, AutoCAD is free for students (if that’s any help): http://students.autodesk.com/#panel1

Hope this adds to the choices!

aShampoo’s website has a bunch of flags in the upper right corner which usually will change the page to the appropriate language.

FWIW: The last time I had (I believe a free trial) of something from aShampoo, & I’ve heard others say the same, they kept flooding my emails (stupidly gave them my 3 main ones) with offers/offers/offers/offers/offers & more offers……Even after I had UNsubscribed, & listed them as spam, & tried to block from even going into the junk folders in the 1st place, & finally directly emailed to their management!!!!!

To this day, they still try to sneak some in from, like, their  affiliates & 3rd party buggers! Frown

Moral: To me they are an endless irritant, so they should be called:

@ Locutus: Agreed. I always use Trashmail. No need to ever worry about spam mail that way. Other dotTechies have suggested Mailinator as well, along with some others (as Locutus said, just do a search on dotTech). There’s just no need these days to register your actual email address for these things. Alternatively, as someone (and apologies, but I can’t remember who) once suggested, why not just create a gmail account (or whatever email host you desire) just for this type of thing. Then who cares if they spam it. But my failsafe is Trashmail. I love it. I use it a lot. And it has never let me down.

Trashmail FTW!!!!

However for Ashampoo, I use a perma-junk e-mail account because it makes it easier seeing as I can avoid the two step procedure required if you have a new account everytime I get an Ashampoo freebie.

 Hey Ashraf, & all:

So I take it that from just a few replies, that I’m not the only one–even just from dotTech-ies–that has had all that extra love from Ashampoo!!

Someone’s trash, may be someone elses……………..trash, too!! Wink

@Ashraf:  I have ~10 semipermanent junkmail accounts.  However, I never get any spam, so I’m fine with all of them and still have them all!  The roughest part about having so many is that transferring from one to another (IE moving your permenant account) takes time.  I might do a guide on it.

I do like Locutus does. Except I don’t have quite that many junk accounts. Lol.

I got tired of switching accounts to check for new emails I want to read and finally took the time to set them up to forward email from those accounts to my main email account. It’s a quick and easy way to scan for emails I want and to delete the junk, without giving my good email address to the companies.

I have to agree about Ashampoo spaming more than anyone else I’ve come across.

Welcome, BrotherWolf!

Great to see others agree about Ashampoo. Not great that they continue forever.

Ashampoo is the most annoyingly persistent spammer I’ve ever had, & despite all attempts, have been unable to stop them! All this because I D/L a trial version of something about 3 years ago, then said no thanks.

But I guess they can’t take NO for an answer! Yell

Hey Locutus!

I had mentioned earlier (not that anyone pays atention to my rambling)

“……Even after I had UNsubscribed, & listed them as spam, & tried to block from even going into the junk folders in the 1st place, & finally directly emailed to their management!!!!! “

So, unfortuantely, it still comes, & comes, &……

@yourpalal:  I’m not popular, I just made enough spam accounts so if one gets bombarded I can take it out of the loop.  That was before I found Mailinator.
