The legendary 3D landscape designer/renderer is now free! I have no idea how long it has been free, but I was pretty pumped when I found out.

Any comments? Questions? Outbursts?

Thank you Refpeuk.

I'd never heard of Bryce before. But now that I've read about it, it looks like fun that could end up with some good looking results. Of course, if it's really “good looking” or not will be in the eyes of the beholder. Wink

Great find. I am familiar with CAD software and this is a rare program. This kind of CAD software is easy to use. :smile:

Daz Studio has been free for years. Iirc Bryce, which has also been around for years, was bought last year by DAZ. I’ve owned versions of Bryce for about 4-5 years. It’s powerful for rendering 3D landscapes. My interests changed over time, and I haven’t touched it for at least a year!

@OldElmerFudd

For years, huh? I wish I had found out about it sooner when I was spending a ton of time on 3D modeling/animation. Oh, well. Come to think of it, Blender 2.5 is in the works (they’ve already released a public alpha), and it’s nice to support these open source authors whenever possible.
