Okay, I got in this time. However, in the process of registering, I discovered something: apparently I already have a Demoind account. My username/email was "in use" SurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprised.

P.S. Ozzie try to put a number in your post title so people can tell this isn't an old post. For this post I edited it and added "3rd time" to indiciate its new.

Sweet, thanks!

I was able to sign up with my own user name; Refpeuk.

Thanks for the previous account anyway, Ozzie. You can have it back if you want, as I never bothered to change the password away from what you had it.

Any comments? Questions? Outbursts?

Thanks Ashraf! Actually, next time I'll put the date in the header so there is no confusion.

Sure thing. Glad you could get one under your own name! As I said, I was given the other one by a friend, so the name was beyond my control.

Got one. Now all I gotta do is learn how to use it. Smile

I've read enough to know that it will come in handy, just don't know the processes used to download stuff. I figure it'll all be explained in the forums and in the FAQs.

@ Ashraf

That happened to me too. I have 3 names I use often around the webs, one of which was so obscure and random and inside that no one else could possibly have thought of the same thing, but it turns out it was already taken… So were the other 2. :eek:

Well, next step is to get yourself a torrent engine. I suggest UTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/). IMH(umble)O, it's the best, but I'm sure others will have their own program of choice. Then its simply a matter of clicking on the download link, which will give you the option of saving the file or opening it. With the latest version of UTorrent, clicking on opening the file will automatically open up UTorrent. Or else, right click on the download link, click "copy link location", and then go into UTorrent and click on the globe icon on the top taskbar and run it that way. If you save the link, then you can open UTorrent and click on the first icon in the taskbar and then manually open it. It's really easy. Have fun with it!

Another client you could consider is Vuze. Its often just as fast or faster than utorrent, but it is a MUCH bigger installation and a little overwhelming. Its speed also depends a lot on your network. It has its own torrent network, though, complete with server seeds.

Completely off the topic, but Pwnana, I find your avatar quite hypnotising. I just found myself staring at it, entranced, for a few minutes before I came to again.

I got one this time. Now (like Wheezer) I just need to figure out what to do with it.

@Ramesh:

@Wheezer

@Karen

the link you posted was invalid this is the direct link to the PDF called the Big Book of Bit-torrent:

http://manuals.makeuseof.com.s3.amazonaws.com/The-Big-Book-of-BitTorrent.pdf

If it does not work just go to http://www.makeuseof.com and look along the right hand side for MUO Guides and then underneath that should be Bit-torrent.:lol:

Difficult, to be sure…..but it shall be done!!

Btw Bittorrent and utorrent have absolutely identical user interfaces, so that guide applies to both. uTorrent is better, tho =P.

And boy are they conceited O_o. The first thing they say is "Even God couldn't have done it better."
