This is a stripped-out version of Wondershare's DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe -- which isn't up there with the best examples of such software anyway.
It's also a marketing con: there is no such thing as Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder Standard. Wondershare doesn't make it. Wondershare doesn't sell it. And nobody has ever been able to buy it for $49.95 -- unlike the deliberately deceitful impression given on the Wondershare website.
It really is about time these commercial developers grew up and stopped thinking consumers are stupid. They're not. The days of inventing fictitious 'products' in hope of luring in the unsuspecting and then up-selling them to the 'proper' version (i.e., the only version that is actually sold commercially) are over.
