New Release – Upgrade Expert PDF 6.2 (Pro) – $22.54 through Dec 3. Not available on their website (in fact they do not even acknowledge that it exists), it is offered only to registered owners of previous versions of the software. That doesn't mean you had to buy it. Anyone who activated an account with Avanquest when we were trying to convert v4 to v6 registered as an account owner and should have received a solicitation. One in French and then one from the Brits (they wanted to be be paid in pounds). The British (English) version is tentatively due to expire end of Weds but I have not been able to clarify many of the details with Avanquest such as ?GMT vs. local time since they have not answered tech support e-mails much less general business ones. Ashraf has mentioned a similar lack of responsiveness.

If this strikes your fancy, check the e-mail address that you used with them previously. The French Pro and British 6.2 are identical except for their accents. It would seem reasonable for Avanquest to simply swap out the programs and not make us swap out resource folders, but we need to get their attention first.

Unlike the French version which allows a 15 day trial period after purchase, there is no such provision noted in the British. I've asked, but no answer yet.

ASHAMPOO UNINSTALLER 4 PRO – For a "limited" time these folks are cutting their price from $50 to $20. This is also apparently by current customer solicitation as their website still lists the $50 retail price. They are not more specific about the limited time. This came as an inducement to buy during a trial period, and while there was nothing personalized about it on its face, the URL that I was about to post turned out to have my customer number in it. Oops.

After trying it for a week, and having an ordeal attempting to get rid of Foxit Reader, where both Revo and Ashampoo failed and tweezers were required for hours in the registry, I'm not keeping it. I used a spam e-mail so mine is up for grabs if anyone wants it. PM me and I will send you the link that I was about to post. I will post again as soon as I give it away.
