I got this as another freebie on dottech, but have just installed it because I have never had it bother me about anything except programs I knew were safe.

I think I’ll be fine with just the conventional anti-virusWink.

Any comments? Questions? Outbursts?

You mean you have uninstalled it? If it warns you about safe programs does it allow you to ignore those warnings? If so consider it because it offers protections other than antivirus – keylogger, screen logger, webcam logger & clipboard logger

dont know how useful it is as I had installed in a few machines and nothing special was detected, but I could not install to other machines after end of January offer, so this is good to have now.

Hi Ramesh. While I’m not %100 sure about Zemana’s functionality yet, anti-key-loggers are but another layer of protection. I’m learning more about them, & feel that they have earned their place alongside of the anti-malware programs.

Here is a quote from - Editorial Review, TUCOWS:  “Zemana AntiLogger protects your online communication and prevents malware from tampering with your transactions.”

Since I’ve D/L Zemana, I thought I’d let people know that I believe the EULA says that free updates are included!! (I use the freeware program EULAlyzer to analyze all software before clicking on NEXT to install).

Will have to configure & test later.

If anyone knows how best to use this, or has issues with it, please add to this forum, so we can all learn together. Thanks

Regards

Al

Hey guys,

i have downloaded Zemana again. I went through that huge fiasco before, as most of you will remember from my post but i’m wondering whether to try this program again.

Tell me what you think i should do, btw no offense to any other posters, but those people that commented on my last post pls reply, you will know better what i went through than others and can help me a lot. I don’t mind if other Dottechies try to help, if anyone can sway my decision to install or not install it, then pls reply.

Thanks to all.

I downloaded it as well, but I haven’t installed it yet.  I’m in the middle of uninstalling a bunch of stuff I don’t use to free up disk space.  And then I want to make sure I have a good disk image.  And then I’ll try this product.  That way if I have any of the problems people have had before then I can easily reimage the disk.

HEY. Conn09:

I just activated Zemana, so I haven’t seen anything its done yet. I always make new software be the most controlled at 1st, like I don’t want it to run at startup, I’ll check for updates manually, disable any shields, not terminate anything without asking permission 1st, etc. Then as we get to know more about each other–like a relationship–I’ll let it have a little more freedom.

As I mentioned earlier, it has free updates, &also,  it is a license for 1 year; but it also has free 24/7 support–which always makes it easier for me to choose to d/l software. If you go to the link from Aang, it shows many features & praise from reputable editors.

I don’t know what happened for you last time, but if you do decide to try it again, as well as with any others who wish to, I’ll keep checking back to this forum to see how things are going. And offer my not-so-tech-savvy feedback, to help however my limited abilities will allow.

I wanted to add that I hope anyone who chooses to d/l Zemana will also check back here, as this is a new security approach for me, & Zemana & anti-keyloggers have a definite learning curve. So I’d like to learn from others, as well as help where I’m able to.

P.S. If anyone is going to d/l this, there are only a few hours left–I don’t know what time zone they are in, as to when it expires. Again, please remember to set your clocks ahead–”spring ahead”–by 1 hour too!

Hi Smile !

There is every likelihood of Zemana Anti Logger having improved its coding between the last giveaway & this. The last giveaway v 1.9.2.185 was on Jan 28th vs. v 1.7.2.960 i.e. this one. In the last giveaway (even within that giveaway period) the installer exe size increased from around 4mb to 6 mb or so!

In the last time (Jan 28th 2010) there were problems downloading because demand exceeded supply. The last time around users also faced severe problems e.g. both Conn09 & I. So both of us uninstalled it then. The learning curve was steep the last time both for developer & users. The version number seems to suggest that in the last 46 days coding has been refined quite a bit. The increase in version numbers is pretty big & fast.

Perhaps its much improved now. In any case it is likely to be quite different compared to last time. The only way to find out is to try it afresh by installing it within the giveaway period.

Hi Ramesh, So did you d/l this, & activate it?

I’d like to learn as I go along, with others.

Hi yourpalal! Smile

Couldn’t this time because there was other pressing work.

As you are trying to understand what antilogging is) this will clarify your concepts. http://www.snoopfree.com/help_file/Breaches.htm. You can apply these concepts to Zemana Antilogger too.

Hi Al! Hope all’s well in your part of the world!

In relation to Zemana and those who are worried, confused or both, I have used both the previous version and this version with no problems at all. It actually isn’t a steep learning curve, so don’t worry. It will probably nag you at the beginning to approve or otherwise of programs as you open them (as all new AVs/security tools do), but after that you won’t know it’s there aside from it alerting you to some things here and there that it thinks might be suspicious (which is fine as I like to know what’s going on anyway). It’s very light on resources and plays happily with my other security progs (Vipre, WinPatrol, Geswall). For me, it’s a nice addition to my arsenal. So I don’t think people need to worry about installing it. But, as always, create a restore point beforehand and if you don’t like it, run Revo.

Hi-diddly-ho, Ozzie must go … See you round, dotTechies!
