Was a sent another email and they stated "we're going to retire 4shared accounts support in 4Sync applications. This step is important to make 4Sync even more reliable and easy to use. "

So 4shared will still be around, just can't log into 4sync, with 4shared credentials nor sync 4shared files with 4sync.

Here's the blog they also sent out that gives a brief reason for the switch.

For those of you have used the app known as 4Shared, 4Sync is from the same developement team. 4Sync has just been released to the public and is giving 15 GB FREE Storage for new users. Not sure if this 15 GBs are for a limited time or not.

Yeah, it's free storage isn't as large as others have been in the past, but at this present moment it is pretty good. It's useable by BB, Android, iphone, and Symbian, PC.

Here is the link to it;

http://www.4sync.com/

Does it look/sound like Dropbox? Well it sure does (to me at least). It's suppose to be function like it, at least with my experience using it and thier description on the service. You can Sync your phone, computer just like dropbox. Although i do have to say the phone app has shown to be a bit slower than dropbox in syncing. An email to 4Sync support says they are working on the speed issue. Guess it's understandable as it's quite new so kinks are still being worked on.

A note to 4Shared users, they will be discontinuing support with 4Shared, no word on if or when the 4Shared accounts will be permanently shut down or not, but your 4Shared accounts should still work and you can still use the "search" feature. You will need to create a new account with 4Sync though, and re-upload your files to 4Sync if you still want them to be syncronized.

Give it a try and see what you all think.
