Hey all

I’m sure I’m not the only one always one the lookout for great free games. If you find any, why not post them below to share?

Here’s some of my favorites:

-S.W.I.N.E.
-Trackmania United
-Spring RTS (An RTS engine with a ton of packages built for it, most of them free.

Well if your a fps person like me, youll love Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Setup is like 265 mb. The game has alot of mods, maps and servers. It comes with 6 maps but many have created new ones. I play on Fob NQ basic and custom. If you play there, tell me your in game name and I’ll teach you in game. Hope you like it. Just go here to download: http://download.cnet.com/Return-to-Castle-Wolfenstein-Enemy-Territory-full-install/3000-7441_4-10243511.html. This is not the one at their website as the link their was to a site you have to register at.

Great find! I actually don’t play First Person Shooters, but another great one that my friend swears by is called A.V.A. You might want to look into that, since it’s got amazing graphics and a huge player base.

Thats a great find also but A.V.A requires a stronger game card than I have. I have old stuff.

Fair enough

I just found a page on the GAOTD Forums that has a huge huge HUGE list of free games. It might not have all the ones worth playing, but there must be some good stuff on there. I still haven’t finished reading through it though. I’ll post any outstanding games back on here.

Oops, I forgot the link. It also may be that these are only games that have been given out on Game giveawayoftheday, but I’m not sure.

This thread was a good idea Refpeuk!

I've spent way too much time, like I'm sure most have, looking at a half million sites offering free games. Only to end up with nothing new to play because none of the games are worth playing.

I found one a couple weeks ago that looked like it'd be fun. It was a flying game where you fly a variety of fighter planes in dogfights. It had a huge download file tho, so I didn't get it. Wish I could remember where it was so I could share it here.

I'll be on the look out tho for good games tho, and will post here if I find any.

Again, good idea for a thread!!!SmileSmileSmile

@Wheezer

Thanks!

I would love to know what that free dogfighting game was that you found, since I love flight sims, particularly combat flight sims. Anyway, if everyone posts the best games they can find on here none of us will have to spend much time looking anymore.

@Wheezer

Thanks!

I really like flight sims (particularly combat flight sims), so if you could post a link to that game (if you find it again) I would REALLY appreciate it.

If everyone posts their best finds on here then no one will have to look for very long for new games any more.

Another one that might pass a little time is a cute capture the flag game called Toblo. Google it; it’s easy to find.

I’m guessing most people who’ve spent this long on Dottech.org have long since gotten used to running CCleaner. Chances are pretty slim that Wheezer still has that browser history.

I keep my history until my hard drive gets full or 30 days, whichever comes first.

Good idea Locutus, but unfortunately like Refpeuk said, I do run CCleaner a lot. Like every time I close my browser, along with a few other times during the day.

Plus, I had found that game before I had to reinstall xp a couple days ago. I'm affraid the info is long gone.

I am trying to remember what I did to get to the site where the game was listed tho, I'd really like to be able to pass the info on. This thread has the potential to be a darn good one, if I can help make it that way, great!

I mentioned Spring RTS Engine briefly earlier, but if you’re an RTS lover, the distros that you’d probably like are Evolution RTS and Kernel Panick.

Here’s one i found awhile back really addictive called spelunky, its kinda like a dungeon crawler mario game:

http://www.spelunkyworld.com/

Also found a FPS called Nexuiz its like a cross between Quake and unreal tournament loads of fun. Looks great and you can tweak the settings to make it run on just about anything(system requirements http://alientrap.org/nexuiz/information).

edit:

 Thanks Refpeuk for telling me about this thread didn’t see it when i checked before. I must be blind! lol

I’m not a specialist but for information :

Electronic Arts graciously offered the PC version Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun with its extension Firestorm.
