Its difficult to make a full switch to Opera after Firefox because there are tons of add-ons to firefox which some you may need necessarily.
But you can always use both of them for different surfing needs :-)
I tend to keep my Firefox lean and mean. Currently I'm just fine with Adblock Plus, Ubuntu Modifications Pack, and webfav. Those last two came preinstalled with Ubuntu Netbook Edition, which is the OS I currently run on my old computer. (Although there are no regular expressions in Opera's ad blocker…)
OfflineLocutus, this may not be the ideal solution, but you could try this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848/

I'll keep that in mind, but I'm on my Ubuntu box--Opera for Ubuntu was slow.

Have you tried the 10.60 alpha?
On the Ubuntu box? Nope, I was using the 10.5x beta.
(They're skipping over 10.5x stable for Linux and heading straight for 10.60.)

OfflineI must need some advil On three machines I use opra on one Safari one another and on this machine I use firefox. all three are good. but only one is really good at just about everything. That folks is Firefox. not that I dislike the other two because they are both rather good just not my browser of choice.

Hey, you stole my line!
LoL, but firefox is not 100% beast.
Maybe take a look in here: http://www.pcworld.com/article….._ie_8.html
The article is relatively old, but you get the point… I hope.
Here's another one: http://www.taranfx.com/ie9-vs-…..x-vs-opera
In this test, it looks like IE is beating in some tests! :O
~Joji~
Offline@Joji- The thing with Fireox is not that it's the best browser in every category, it's that it performs the best when you put it all together. That, and the massive amount of addons that it has puts it on top (or really close). Plus, in your second link, the version of IE they are testing is not even in the Alpha stage yet, so it's a preview of what's to come. And they only did two tests, one of which is a test that involves testing a Microsoft browser, with Microsoft's DirectX. It's a bit biased.
