Oh No! I've been borged and assimilation is imminent!

I think you have to buy a special 'colored' lightscribe disc... so far I've just tried the regular bland ones; because they cost slightly more than a 'regular' generic dvd+-... and the ones with color backgrounds are a little more yet.

The freebie templates I've burned so far are a sort of charcoal brown; which is just fine for me because
I'm more interested in getting a text directory listing on them.

I'm sure my kids will want the 'pretty' ones; but I'll delay that as long as possible.

Although I've never seen anyone with it... does it just do black and white or color too?

I am sort of new to dotTech and I've been reading about so many cool deals that it istaking almost all of my 'free' time.

I took advantage of the Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Ashraf wrote about a while back. It was better than the commercial burner I purchased less than a year ago for $49!

They subsequently sent me an email offer to upgrade to Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 for $10. And I did.

I figured it would only cost me a little to see if I was a lot gullible. It's great!

It has loads of capabilities presented simply enough that I can learn and use them. I didn't even know what a light scribe drive was; and I didn't know I had one. The burning studio pointed out the link to download the software and it installed and ran flawlessly.

It's just a playful little thing maybe, and it takes time, but it's nice to label backups and discs for the family. I always worried a bit about something I read in the old LangaList newsletter about permanent markers degrading discs over time.

Now I get to worry about burning the top of a disc degrading the data on the bottom.

Anyway thanks again dotTech and forum folks.
