OfflineHi ! I am new to this forum. I always love dotTech for the innovative things. I use many of the freebies suggested here..
I have win7 in my laptop and I love the automatic wallpaper changer feature in it. I searched in a google for an alternative to use in vista/xp. I found this.
I used it for a while in my xp computer and found it a bit unstable. Now I am using it in my Vista computer till last night, without no problems yet… It has a screenshot utility inbuilt. It uses ~8Mb memory in my PC with 2.5Gb RAM.
But is there any better freeware alternative as a Automatic wallpaper changer, that does not consume too much resourses.?
OfflineWelcome!
Check out my post I wrote so long ago on wallpaper changer: http://dottech.org/freewaresr/4514.
OfflineAsharaf,
I went to that post, but found that the direct link to the freeware version of AWC leads to the shareware version now. Also the link for Desktoptopia is not working as well.
I downloaded a few free ones before.
Some are Photostand , Easy Wallpaper Changer, Bing4Free and the one I already said Adolix Wallpaper Changer .
Will you please check and tell which will be the best one? And if possible suggest a better one. For my turn I slightly prefer Adolix. But Bing4Free is also good ans can download Bing Wallpapers too.. Bad resolutions though.
Thanks for your time and help.. :)

How often do you want these changes??
I try new desktop backgrounds all the time, but only manually change them–some days more often, some days I just leave it be. One alternative (to using an ~8Mb memory app) I chose was to go to sites that have tons of images that can be D/L (or any screen-shots, web pages that I just copy/paste, or "save picture as"), or even use any digital photos you have of loved ones (& those, uh, not-so-loved)—or you can use paint & other apps to create your own. Or even scan non-digital pics, photos, & upload. Knock yourself out with your own slide show!
I have other ideas, but I don't want to put you to sleep, & my attention span is drifting!!!

Hey, I said I have fallen in love with windows 7 wallpaper changer. Now I can't have in vista, Microsoft doesn't provide any. So, I will have to go for a 3rd party softy.
It is fairly easy to change wallpapers manually. But often it is troublesome if I would like to change that once or twise in a hour..
Thanks for your reply.. :)

OfflineAs for me on this rig, I much rather click on my desktop
every second morning and manually select something from my file. I don't want
to have another app running in BG, other than what I have now. This rig is XP.
on my 7 laptop i don't use anything other than my company logo. Simply because business
is what it is Business.
