Okay so I just went to download DiskDigger (http://dottech.org/freeware-reviews/8643). The download came out to be 193 KB. That made me a bit suspicious because I don't remember the program being 193 KB big. I thought may the download link was broken. So I went to the developer's website; it seems to be down. I thought to myself "okay I will download it from other places like Download.com or Softpedia". I go to Download.com and find DiskDigger. To my surprise it is now listed as "free to try, $15 to buy". Is DiskDigger no longer freeware? I was (is) a brilliant file recovery tool and $15 really isn't much but still, I am curious to know if the deveoper decided to make it shareware.

The version of portablefreeware.com is 0.8.3 which is the same I found in my software folder from 2009.
I read here

that it's the last freeware one before shareware v.1…
P.S. The rest of people who dont have it, go get it now before it disappears :-)

This has matured into a very useful little resource for the last outings of freeware before it became share / commercial ware:

I have e-mailed the developer of DiskDigger to ask permission to host the latest freeware version on dotTech. Let's see what he says.
