OfflineHi everyone! This will be a handy tool for the many people out there, like me, who love Dropbox. I saw this on ghacks yesterday and thought I'd pass the link on (http://www.ghacks.net/2010/05/07/dropbox-folder-sync-lets-you-sync-any-folder-with-dropbox/). Basically, there is a Dropbox add-on called Dropbox Folder Sync that allows you to:
"… sync any folder outside dropbox using a simple GUI or just Right Click any folder and Select "Sync With Dropbox".
"Moves the original folder to dropbox and creates a symbolic link for the folder using the junction utility(installs automatically with the setup) from Sysinternals. Thus you can access the same folder from two locations."
Very handy addition to Dropbox. Anyway, have a look at the ghacks article if you're interested and also visit the site: http://wiki.dropbox.com/DropboxAddons/DropboxFolderSync
Dropbox rules!
Offline@ Locutus: I remember not so long back when you reviewed the different online storage options that someone mentioned the lack of such Dropbox folder synching, so this seems to fill that niche nicely. I have installed it but haven't played around with it yet. I think I'll have a tinker with it later today.

Dang…I saw the Tribbles…no, Tabbles…………..& …
I was just about to look for a pic like this to interject some humor……..
I should have known you would have had one ready!
……..Take that, Quick draw McGraw!
Have that one ready? By no means did I have that one ready.
I couldn't remember the name of Tabbles, but I knew it was something like Tribbles. That was funny, so I kept that and then looked up the name of Tabbles. Later I reposted the same funny Tribbles thing, so I posted an image found on Google Images. (I personally like Stargate more than Star Trek, but having an account called "Rodney McKay" would make everyone think that was my real name…. just like when I called myself Jean-Luc Picard--which was, by the way, a "I need a username for a tech site… funny… ah ha! Jean-Luc Picard" moment.)

Great. Now we won't hear from him for a couple weeks again…

Blog posts take (potentially) hours of research + write time.
Like that one I did on the online backups. That took maybe 3 hours over 3 days.
(I'm not writing it right now because so far, I've remembered at 11:30PM three times this week to write an article for Cogizio. 30 minutes would be plenty of time to write this up… if nothing went anything other than perfect.
