Any and all e-mails can be spoofed. The IP address the e-mails are sent from, however, cannot be spoofed. That is typically how webmails filter spam and not spam in regards to spoofed e-mails.

They were links to a site that appeared to be the official OpenOffice site, but wasn't. The downloads on the site appeared to be for the Open Office software. Even if it was the Open Office suite of software, it probably had a virus or trojan folded into it.
