HP Laptop; G62-340US; AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P340. 2.2GHz, 3GB RAM,
320GB, 15.6″ LED, Webcam/Mic $246.78 AR if you have HP Recyle Credit
B&M Staples only

Product Highlights

- 2.2GHz AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P340

- 3GB (1x2GB, 1x1GB) RAM

- 320GB 5400rpm Hard Drive

- SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe

- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics

Price:

On the Staples website it says the price in the store is $499.98.
However, the price in the story is $499.98 – instant savings of $70 =
$429.98 – $100 for turning in an old computer – $50 off computers (today
and tomorrow only) = $279.98 + $16.80 tax (6% in Michigan) = $296.78 -
$50 HP mail in rebate = $246.78 AR! (OR $346.78 if you don't have an
old computer to trade in.)

The laptop is only entry level, but it has terrific specs for the low price. Anyone looking for a new laptop should jump on this.

*Note that the old computer you trade in must be Windows XP or higher and must be able to boot up.

This looks almost identical to my Compaq laptop. I wonder, how would they profit from giving us $100 for our old computers? Or an even better question, what exactly do they do with these old computers? Good deal though.

That’s a really good deal you found, Ashraf. Smile

Especially for an “entry level.” Its specs are similar to my 17” Toshiba Satellite (my 1st laptop & only 2nd computer), I paid about $700, after a bunch of rebates, & actually has twice the Hard Drive…. (& to upgrade from Vista to 7 right now is at least $100-150).

Just 1 (hopefully not dumb) Confused question: Aren’t most, if not all, new screens “Backlit”?

Life is just a phase you're going through…you'll get over it.

In the end everything will be OK. If it's not OK then it's not the end.
