I don't think I've looked at aDrive yet. I'll add it to the list of possibilities.

One thing that I want to check out first tho came to me when I was checking CSNet. In that same category as giga tribe they list uTorrent. I've already got that on my computer, from when I signed up for the Demonoid account. I haven't gotten around to using either one yet, but it sounds like maybe I can use uTorrent to do the job. I just want to check out security, as in will I be able to give access to only those who I choose to or will it be available to everyone and anyone.

It shouldn't take to long to find that info, once I get around to it. I've just got so many things going on right now that it's hard to remember it all and get the time to do it.

Wheezer I might have hit paydirt for you. Basically there are just 3 factors which you require to be satisfied:-

1. P2P with ability to send video from 1 to 1. Apparently the jargon for it is F2F
2. Security for you & your receiver
3. The Client aka app should be compatible with BitTorrent protocol

There is one app aka Client which seems to satisfy all 3 parameters. Its called "OneSwarm" . Check it out on http://oneswarm.cs.washington.edu/index.html

I don't think uTorrent allows you to specify only specific users.  But I could be wrong.  I've only used it "casually", not looked under the hood.

The former is obviously more private. The former also allows limited choices to download from. The otherwise very well worded help file of uTorrent 1.8.4 is silent about:-

1. Whether encrypting allows fine tuning to just one peer
2. With or without password so that only one peer can read it
3. Whether password is secure or not

I went to the giga tribe website and posted a comment about my experience with the hopes that they would reply with instructions on how to fix the crashing issue. I made sure to word it in a way that wouldn't be insulting or in any way derogatory.

Within minutes my comment was taken down. Eventually if you're not going to say you love it, you can't comment.

Since Karen originally found the information on CNet, I have now posted a comment on that site's page for giga tribe. If they leave it up, which I have no reason to believe they won't, at least people will have one honest experience to take into consideration before downloading the program.

From what I read on the facebook discussions page, it sounded like the older versions were much easier to use and stable. One person even went on a rant about how the new version isn't very newbie friendly and how giga tribe should change that.

I don't remember see an option to do it, but I might go back to their site and see if I can find a way to download an older version. That could be worth a shot.

Unfortunetely the progam would just shut down after about 2 minutes all by it's self. I looked in the options settings and on their online forum, which is just a link to their facebook page, and found nothing to make it keep running. There is one  message in their "Discussions" page on facebook titled "Crashing", but when  I click the link to open the page it takes me back to my wall page. ???  Other messages on the discussion page were't talking very kindly about the new version 3.1 either.

I was planning on running a test of how the whole thing worked by setting up a different account in my old computer, then try downloading a file from my new computer to it. But the program shut down on that one too.

So over-all, my impression of Giga Tribe is that it isn't going to work, for me anyway. It's been uninstalled on both computers and my search goes on.

Guess I'll check into HFS as o(o.o)o suggested next.

Let me know what you find out.  I've never used it myself.  I just like to check out CNET fairly regularly and it was on their download.com home page.
