The real personal accounts can get you into trouble very easily... especially when it comes to your girlfriend/wife/family etc and I mean many kinds of troubles :-)

Personally, I had resisted creating a facebook account for years... and only have a couple of fake accounts because my girlfriend wanted to play poker together...

For those, like me, that aren't going to delete their facebook account. You may want to try something I found out about on The Windows Club.

It's a scanner for your facebook account that checks your privacy settings to see if your info is being given out. It's a bookmarklet. You sign into your account, click the tab and it runs the scann. Only takes a few seconds and will give you the results at the top of your page. Easy.

Think about it. If everyone continued to use Facebook, how would you feel. The developers obviously don't care about privacy anymore and started making the whole privacy thing "not a big deal" anymore. That's... not good at all.

So what can we do? Do a movement. Show Facebook how much privacy means to you by deleting your account on May 31st, so that Facebook can see that so many people deleted their accounts just because of privacy.

....and hopefully Facebook will understand, or else they will lose business. :)

BTW, I forgot to mention I do't have Facebook. I actually wanted one before, but my parents didn't allow me because it's "unnecessary". Besides, I can tell that many of my friends who use Facebook are quite addicted to it... so I don't want that to happen to me. :)

Seriously, it's about time they took that privacy thing seriously*.

   Although in all honesty, we (the users) are responsible for that.

My 2 cents.

Facebook is one of those sites that are weak in privacy! In fact it's almost like they don't care about anyone's privacy and made the public easier to access private stuff (I think… right?)!

We don't want to lose Facebook, but at the same time,we don't feel secure every time we do stuff on there.

What can we do, you say? Well how about we quit facebook and make awareness!
