Gioneo: I tired putting "sysnative" in like the one guy suggested, but that alone had no effect.

The stuff the other guy is talking about with systemroot and VMCPropertyHandler.dll is beyond my knowledge level. I've never messed with anything like that before and don't think I really want to. I'd be afraid of messing up my system so bad it wouldn't work at all.

Reinstalling XP Mode is more than I want to do at this point too. I've already installed a few other programs besides photoshop so I'd have to reinstall all of them again.

I may change my mind if I find myself bored, but right now I guess I'd rather just use the regular desktop icon to open photoshop than to reinstall everything again.

What about re-installing XP Mode? I doubt RocketDock is the culprit since that VMCPropertyHandler.dll belongs to the VM.

That went right over my head, I hope.

Photoshop is installed in XP Mode, which is a virtual Machine (as far as I understand it anyway). I was never able to install it using the regular compatibility mode in windows 7 because I'd get a message saying something that lead me to think the disc I have with photoshop can only be installed on a 32bit machine (my windows 7 machine is 64bit). When I insert the disc the message pops up and I can't do anything, unless I'm in the virtual XP mode.

I did think of uninstalling photoshop from the virtual XP Mode and then reinstalling it. But a thought stopped me: If the regular desktop icon works fine, and I then basically make a copy of it to put into rocketdock, whether or not it works in rocketdock, there must not be anything wrong with photoshop. Especially when the rocketdock icon worked fine at first.

Doesn't that mean the problem must be with rocketdock?

Everything was going along fine, I'd click the icon in rocketdock and it'd open photoshop as expected. Then a few days ago it quit working and I get the following message when I click the icon.

 

 

If I click the regular desktop icon (the same one I dragged and dropped into rocketdock) photoshop opens.

I don't understand why it is doing this after working just fine for a while. I also have no idea how to fix it so it'll work again.

I thought about uninstalling it and reinstalling it but don't really want to have to add all my icons again from scratch, if I don't have to.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
