If you click "Check for updates" in Sticky, you can download a new version that does work.

My PC had to be rebuild following a power failure which blew the motherboard, the RAM and the primary HDD. I have cobbled together a temp' replacement using an old Packard Bell 2.2Ghz processor, 1.5Gb RAM and with 2 x SATA drives. This did have an old 80Gb IDE drive (with XP pro on it) as the primary drive and it was working as a dual boot machine fine. However, when I removed the IDE drive and replaced it with a 2nd SATA drive it keeps suddenly shutting itself down and going into sleep mode (but won't wake with any key press or mouse movement) and has to be turned off at the PSU. I've turned the power setting to Never Turn Off for both the PC and monitor but no change.

Has anyone any ideas please?

1. Click on File tab > click on Open archive.

You can check the file. But if WinRAR fails to repair the corrupt archive, this means the archive is extremely corrupted and you must use a third-party zip recovery application. I encountered this software the other day, too, but stayed well clear because of the word 'FREE' in its title. I wondered if it was in some way connected with FREEMAKE software and that outfit's video editor and video converter, both of which came through onto my PC loaded with more scary malware than I'd have thought possible. (And wow, when it came to Revo's uninstall process, the number of registry entries this software had made was downright astonishing.)

Whether or not Freecorder is in some way related to Freemake (the developer IDs are different, but that means nothing at all) I certainly wouldn't go within a country mile of 'Cheryl Wester' and her supreme arrogance -- an arrogance which presumably reflects the true corporate ethos of an outfit that ought to be black-listed by every computer user, everywhere.

PS: Just a thought, but is dot tech using Java in any way? I've stripped it off my machines in view of Oracle's problems and am wondering if that's why this comment text looks so odd during the writing process.

Nope, no Java. But you are right, the text box in these forums is looking odd -- I'll look into it.

BTW: What malware did Freemake software come with?! When I downloaded their software a while back and reviewed it, it came with no malware what-so-ever.
