At work, I just use Outlook and set up a calendar item if I need an alarm which is not often. Since I always have Outlook up and running anyway, this works well.

At home, I feel no need to have an alarm on my PC. If I do need an alarm at home, the bedside alarm clock works well as does the alarm on my phone.

No, but for alarms I've always found that the Naked Alarm Clock that has nothing to do with anything naked works well and it's a no-install Flash app (you need to keep your browser open): http://www.nakedalarmclock.com/

Hi

Are you put off by the fact that Windows system time is disgustingly small &/or hopelessly underfeatured? I mean its like you really have to screw up your eyes to read it right ? Besides it does not have features like alarms & reminders right?

Besides perhaps you are'nt interested in having a digital clock or analog clock on your screen right? Perhaps (& rightfully so in some cases) you are concerned that your computer might even hang sometime because you chose a lousy app?

I checked all the apps in this category in Cnet, mulled & finally chose just one.

nthClock 3.0.0. Sensibly featured; trustworthy behaviour; delivers consistently. I for one did not ask for more.

Features?

Shows date & time in 12-hour or 24-hour formats

Shows date & time as a percentage of the day

Lets you set as many alarms as you wish

Lets those alarms go off once or repeatedly, at any interval you choose

Gives you full flexibility on the alarm's reminder message

Lets you can choose from nthClock's eight built-in sounds

Lets you choose font, font colour, font size & background as well. This is great for everyone including those who are normal sighted, wear spectacles, contact lens, are visually challenged or colour blind. Not very many apps provide this feature

Lets you move or hide the window anywhere

Reduces to system tray & offers very good system tray menu selections

Works only on "Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP"

Does it consume lot of system resources? Nope. nthClock.exe consumes negligible resources

Does the process always run in the background. Nope. It runs only when invoked. Disappears when it is not invoked. Therefore does not hang your comp like some other apps

Try it. You'll smile as well & as widely as this Smilie does

Its available on http://download.cnet.com/nthCl.....06630.html
