But no one else has a portable antivirus, except for those boot AVs. So it's still staying in my toolkit.

I like AV-comparitives more, because I managed to use it to convince someone MSE was better than AVG.

go with ClamAV for Windows.

O_o Dont do that! Clam may be free and portable and all, but it has horrendus detection rates and even worse removal rates. AV-test gave it a 52% score.

I saw that article too, and what I got from it was that Panda wins the number 1 spot, as it was the only suite to get 5.5 in both protection and repair.

You know I saw this website. I was thinking about writing a AV-Comparatives.org vs AV-Test.org article comparing why the results of the two are so different and which one is more trust worthy. In short, I find more comfortable with AV-Comparatives' tests because they are much better at thoroughly explaining their process, analysis, and results.

Here's the listing of the top antivirus apps for repairing infections, from AV-test.org:

Avira (paid-for)

Kaspersky (paid-for)

Panda (paid-for)

Eset (paid-for)

F-Secure (paid-for)

Symantec (paid-for)

Microsoft Security Essentials (free!)

... and more at the link above.

But I think the important thing to note here is that the only free AV on the list is MSE! (Then again, it's the only free one they tested... shh.)
