I am the developer for Crave World Clock. I apologize for the trouble caused while uninstalling the software. We have fixed the uninstallation issue in the recent update.

Please note that we do not want your money to uninstall the software, it was just a mistake which we have rectified.

Thank you, Shadow.... Before I had the chance to take your advice, Ashraf had a giveaway of jv16 PowerTools. It was very easy to find, using their extensive repertoire, that the Crave Cock still had several items on my startup, and I was able to dump them entirely.

Is there a place to report crap like this? It was not a technical error, but stated quite clearly that I must buy the program to get-rid-of the startup reminder screen.

Try Windows R, to bring up Run Comand then type in "msconfig" to bring up System Configuration , then click on Startup it should be showing as one of the startup items, uncheck its box then reboot. This should remedy the situation. After that, if you have any expertise with removing reg entries, do a regedit and search for remnants.

You might also look at others loaded on start that might also impact on system speed. If you have any queries about these items check the database at Bleeping Computer, and follow same instructions as the above.

I installed this time map from GOTD, hoping to use it as desktop wallpaper, but found that it did not suit my needs.

When I uninstalled with the built-in Vista uninstaller, I got a notice that it was unable to remove several files. I was able to locate these on the start screen, and deleted them.

I now get an expiry notice on every startup, telling me that the only way I can remove the notice is to buy the product (for $20)!!! Revo (which I now use for uninstalls) is unable to locate this item.

I sent a message to the GOTD forum, but this was NEVER PUBLISHED.

This is nothing less than blackmail, in which GOTD seems to be a willing participant.

Does any DotTechie have a suggestion how to get rid of the startup notice?
