@David: in my 9th grade history class (oh those where the good old days) my teacher told us in the 60s there was a short-lived program in the USA where American soldiers were given atomic-rifles (i.e. guns that could shoot nuclear grade ammuniation or something). I did google it and it turns out there is some truth to that (you can obviously guess why it was short-lived Smile).

My question is did you ever get your hands on one of them? Laugh

I was in the Air Natl guard in the 1960's - learning how to put a bayonette on the end of a rifle to keep my "neighbors" in line should a riot occur.  In my 20's. Thank God we only went through the motions and never had to do it.  I would never been able to sleep at night if I had had to stab a person over racial unrest.  What a waste.
