OfflineAs part of the process of changing & evolving the dotTech website, I’ve noticed the list of the “Top Posters” segment, usually on the bottom right, is not there now. Is this just “gone” for a while, or permanently?
IMHO, after posting hundreds of times, & even though it’s kind of ‘neat’ to see one’s username there, I must be frank, & say that I guess it can be as much of a “badge of honor,” as it is an ‘ego’ thing (again, only IMHO).
So, in some (unkown) way, I’m almost glad that it’s not there.
What do others think about this?

OfflineI also noticed there is a number "1" to the left of your search bar Ashraf.
And I also have a small request: Could you perhaps also add a Recent Forum Posts section to the bottom, right next to the Recent Comments section? When I am browsing the forums, I usually click on the Recent Forum Posts link, but now the forums function without the side menu (which is a good change mind you). Anyways, this is a tiny request from me, but only if you feel it makes sense. It's all cool if you say no….I'd still sob over it though….
Offline@Yourpalal: Thanks! I am not too creative but I was able to muster together my creative juices on that one :-)
@Joy: I know about the "1" but I have no bloody idea why it is there and no bloody idea how to remove it.
And sure I can add a Recent Forum Posts widget to the bottom, no problem at all.
OfflineNot really. The reason it shows up in view source is because view source shows the end product — after the page has been generated. In the backend that **** 1 is buried somewhere in all the functions and files. I will track it down… someday. For now lets just pretend the 1 stands for "dotTech is number 1" :-P
Although I do find this theme to be really nice, for the next time you're considering a change.

It is a bit pricy compared to this (free) theme or your semi-original blue ($25) theme. I have no idea what that nice bright clean white one (I for one liked it) theme cost.
OfflineThe problem with Thesis is that it is a theme framework – it is barely usable as a theme itself. So I would have to purchase Thesis (which is costly) and a child-theme on top of that. Now I wouldn't mind coughing up the money for thesis and the child-theme if the themes are good, but if I find cheaper alternatives that are just as good I see no reason to overpay.
For example I was willing to pay for a new theme when I was redesigning dotTech but I just couldn't find a paid theme I liked. So I went with the white one and now this one, both luckily free.
That said, this current theme is actually a framework + child-theme also. Let's see if you can guess which one :-)
