Ditto what Wheezer said & ditto also the reason Wheezer gave. If a thread has many posts & you wish to to reply to a post which is not the last there are 2 ways of doing it:-

I'm pretty sure this is the right area to post this, but every time I follow a link on the forum, I am sent to the second page of the topic. It's nothing too major, but perhaps worth looking into if other people are having this problem (My OS is Windows 7 64bit, and I'm using Firefox 3.6 if it matters 
)

I think it's set up that way, so that if you've been following the thread you get taken to the latest post and don't have to go through all the previous posts that you've already read first.
Sometimes it's a bit of a hassle, but for me anyway I like it this way.

Yeah, the forum is setup that way. The reason for this is what the "Recent Forum Posts" widget is to show forum posts with the most recent activity. Therefore, it makes sense to load the latest post.
I apologize for the hassle, though.

Ditto what Wheezer said & ditto also the reason Wheezer gave. If a thread has many posts & you wish to to reply to a post which is not the last there are 2 ways of doing it:-
- The better way is to "Quote & Reply". While using "Quote & Reply" do remember that you are in no way bound to quote the entire article. You can even chose to quote just a portion of it – aka only the relevant part
- Another way but not as good as the first way is to quote the number of the post you are replying to. Trust me, this second way is not as good a way as point number 1
