OfflineI have been in doubt if i should post this at all and did any one care, But I like dottech so much and i have been loyal to this page sense Asahaf posted daily in "giveaway of the day" days. there i got my deepest respect for Asahaf as a guy there know what he was talking about and i have many free programs that I use still with pleasure. it was not every day there was some thing I could use but there was always some good talks about programs, but some times there was some gold (must have programs) I did't know existed.
Its allways a good idea to make things better and maybe this is better for some people, but for me its getting worse and worse more and more cell phone stuff and less windows pc things, this is sad , its moving away from why I started to visit dottech daily and why I love this site.
I wonder if I am the only one? and i hope you can use my opinion, or at least give it a thought
Karsten
OfflineI realize that most people preferred it as one article for three soft but that wasn't SEO friendly and it was bad for dotTech, which is why we have split it up now.
We publish the Windows articles one after another to make easier to read, and there is a "Windows" button you can press at the top of dotTech to see only Windows articles. What else would you like us to do?

As a long time reader of dotTech, I too miss how it used to be… but I know this site has grown and changes must be made….Please do elaborate on what exactly you miss. I don't want to lose that "dotTech Feeling" in the name of growth and expansion.
If you don't change dotTech.org it will get stale! Keep trying new ideas. If you get it wrong, you will soon know because a pack of dotTechies will howl at you. We're all so dependent on our daily dose, you won't be allowed to get it wrong. ![]()

OfflineI think I understand what the OP means. In the past, we could subscribe to which topics we wanted to watch, such as Windows, Mac, mobiles, etc. We would get an email with only those things that interested us. Now, we get an email that shows all the articles, on all subjects, whether we're interested in them or not.
Most of the time, it is a very long list, one in which is kind of a PITA to read through to find an article that relates to my interests. (especially when you're as blind as me!)
I do not own an iphone, an ephone, a gphone or any other fancy phone, or tablet, or any other advanced device. Just a PC and a regular cell phone that does one thing: phones home. (ok, 2: phones dad too! :D)
I have Windows 7 on my PC, so I'm not interested in Windows 8, or Mac articles. Maybe later, when I break this one and have to buy another.
Having said all that, I THINK the OP means that we would like the choice back of which "subjects" we would like to subscribe to, and receive in our emails, and not the entire list. I would have to agree, if that is it. If I'm wrong, spank me later.
PS: as much as I totally read, understand and giggle at typonese, Ashraf, I think you need a spellchecker in your program that you use to write your articles! LOL! (or not, it's just a suggestion to make your articles look more professional to the outside world. I kinda like the mispellings myself! ;) )

Of course, if everything were kept the same, things would get stale. I just want some aspects of the old dotTech back, not all of it.
I personally don't own a cell phone and refuse to have one. The husband has one for emergency purposes and thats fine and dandy as long as I don't have to use it. Good grief, personally I don't see the point, but thats me. If I want to chat with my friends we meet at a coffee house and make a day of it & personally I like that much better than a stupid phone. Yes, I'm old lol turned 56 this year. But I agree with Karsten, I see more and more posts reguarding phones and apps than anything else. And I think thats sad, in a way. Is this what we've become? The 1 thing that comes to mind in our brave new world is a quote from an old movie(very old movie) … "Soylent Green is people!" If you're not old enough it won't make sense.
We've come a long way from calling a friend up for a chat, or chatting with a friend on the phone while you fix dinner, but to see the stage we've reached is sort of sad, I think. I don't even look at many of the DotTech posts I get any more because they're mostly apps for phones. And when Karsten spoke up I had to agree. I truly can't remember when the last time I took advantage of a DotTech offer…![]()
Altho I do admit I have bought some software from StarDock, lol But that I found on my own.

At the top of each page is a black bar. Click the word "WINDOWS" and lo and behold you will get only window posts.
I reckon that you are a bit young to be joining us old 'anti-toy' fogies. By the way – great user name!

lmao, "a bit young". Well, thank you for that, you know how to make a womans day. I've found what you recommended and made my adjustments. As for the name, my brother gave me that waaaaaay back in the day when we both played on an old site called Pyroto Mountain. It's been my nick ever since.
