Okay, so a lot of people were telling me how the stark contrast between white background and black text was hard on the eyes. So I adjusted the background to be slightly gray. Is this better? Feedback, please.

I like it! I also like this new wider forum… it's almost beckoning for more text!

Yep, it looks good. Easy on the eye. And I also like the wider forums. Nice job, Ashraf.

I Like the new starker look, it looks clean and to the point. I Must admitt I hate the white/grey background (no offence) It does my eye's in after a few minutes, so this could just be me. Appreciate the site as always, so i will just run through a little quicker….lol

And thanks for installing WP mobile. The forums are a little odd, but there’s nothing to be done about that.

Definitely better. However, to my admittedly picky eyes, I did notice that it is still white in between the various forum sections.

yay! ashrafs back! hooray!

its been a while since i came here, but i think this looks better compared to the other one, although the other one looked better visually.

however,i believe that the site is not done yet but so far the backround is much more better.. it gives a better feel.

still too much white also for me…

perhaps 1 or 2 colors would help. not many but just a few for the eyes.

Don't worry – I have felt the backlash and am working on a new design. It will be up soon.

Hi Ashraf

and Yes Laughthis is better Coolbut even though I've only been geeking at pc screens for a couple of years I certainly notice that the brighter the background on the screen the more my eyes become grainy and strained after just 20-30minutes.

I have had to resort to dimming the monitor screen to protect my sight

It generally doesn't matter what the colour of the font is, just too much bright white hurts after a while.Cool

I agree with both of you. The enlarged and restyled Forums feel a lot more inviting and make you feel more inclined to write more. They also make it so you don't need to scroll as much to read long paragraphs any more – which is always a bonus. Personally, I get tired of reading if I notice that a page is quite long.

Is it just me though, or does the new Forum theme kinda feel similar to a default phpBB look? Not that I mind – I like clean, smooth layouts.

@Locutus: That is a beautiful theme. However, I don't think it would be a good fit for dotTech in its current form. Too many missing elements.
