Tagging freebies & contests seperatly

I know that this has been discussed previously, but It might be a discussion worth revisiting. Its interesting that Tipradar discovered that tagging 'contests' as 'giveaways' was a source of irritation to their subscribers and visitors alike. They realized that this was an issue which needed to be addressed and now distinguish items by tagging them separately as either a giveaway or a contest. I still believe differentiating the two types would improve dotTech.

Are you suggesting that we rename the Limited License Freebies to Contests? It'd save everybody a bit of scanning. Smile However, those types of freebies--whatever you want to call them, Limited License or Contests--are not featured on the home page of dotTech, so I'd say they're already pretty well separated.

Well yes, something like that. Laugh I do see your point and agree, but I was more thinking of visitors (who I imagine outnumber members that already know how to navigate the site) as it must be a little confusing for them.

Well if you can think of a way to get 1000 members to self-police themselves, by all means, go ahead! Surprised
