OfflineRats – you'll never find me there…no facebook or twitter account in my world. Just not a social network person.
Btw, I noticed an article about security issues that might be interesting.

OfflineWould not go there. I am very wary of all social network sites, especially security issues, have no time for them nor nor any intent ever to join.
Every invite to join anything remotely like one that is, purportedly, sent to me from one of my so called friends, business aquaintences etc. gets marked immediately as SPAM and consigned to the BIN.

Ya, ditto here too!
OfflineI set up an account and page for our fire department on Facebook. I use it as a place to automatically post a notice whenever I post a new article on our blog.
Within days the visitor count to our website and blog went way up. But to be honest, I spend a lot of time dealing with that account. Whether it's approving new "friends," reading messages sent that are really nothing more than spam, removing personel stuff from the "wall" that others have posted, and the list goes on and on.
Over all it's a pain in the neck. But because of the number of new visitors, I'm putting up with the hassle, for now.
Our Twitter and Myspace accounts are 1,000 times easier to manage and are hassle-free.
OfflineLocutus: No arguement here. I usually don't even go to our myspace page anymore. I use an add-on in Windows Live Writer to post updates to twitter, myspace, and facebook. So there's really no need to go to twitter or myspace.
It's the facebook account that brings the extra work. Oh well…
OfflineFacebook is ok. I occasionally post status updates, but I mainly use it to read other people's status updates. If you stay away from the social games (like Farmville), I think it is ok. I've used it to reconnect with a bunch of people that I haven't seen since high school and even arranged a real-life meeting with some of them.

You can just ignore all of the friend request and messages. No one will be scolding you
Even better, you could just open a page for your blog instead of a full-blown account

There you go. What do I do with it now?
