TechCrunch is giving away 1000 invites to beta test. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it could be useful.

From the registration email I received:
For more information about eType, you are welcome to visit the eType website or see below for more details.

Looks interesting, think I'll give it a try. Maybe it'll work automatically in the forum and PMs here, I hope.

Thank you Karen. Smile

I downloaded and installed. Since it is going to be a part of startup, I wonder if it is a resource hog. Probably not.

Just uninstalled it.

The little box popped up when I installed it saying that it was downloading the current version. I had other things to do, so left it alone while I went off to do them. I came back to it 3 hours later and the little box was still there, same message.

So I closed the window. 5 seconds later the window opened againg by it's self and the message popped up on my screen again. So I closed it again. 5 seconds later it popped up again. The window would always stay on top too, so I couldn't ignore it by hiding it behind another window.

Next I opened the program so I could check and hopefully change a setting to get the pop up window to stop. Tried changing a couple settings, the window kept popping up.

Checked their website FAQs. Didn't see anything that looked like it would help, altho to be honest, I wasn't about to click on all those "more" links on the FAQ page, at that point I was getting too ticked off at that pop up window being in the way all the time.

After a half hour of trying to get rid of the pop up window, I gave up. It's gone now without me even getting to really try it out.

I DL and installed. It is kind of quirky. But once I got it going, it is good if you are a writer blogger etc. but for just everyday emails etc, it is a bit much especially for a sentence or two.

I took it out of start, but it may be useful later.
