OfflineTechCrunch is giving away 1000 invites to beta test. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it could be useful.
From the registration email I received:
For more information about eType, you are welcome to visit the eType website or see below for more details.
What is eType?
eType is a FREE, amazing new writing tool which will fundamentally change your writing experience.
How Does it Work?
eType offers up high probability word choice suggestions during the actual typing process as well as correcting spelling, grammar, and even translating words for you into foreign languages. If the task includes writing, eType is your tool.
The eType Advantage:
As you will soon find out, eType is more than just your standard editing software; eType was designed to function as a creative facilitator, helping you put thought to paper in a seamless process of typing, creative integration and spot editing, so that when you're on a writing "roll", you never have to slow down.
Whether you're typing a Word document, sending tweets out on Twitter or updating your status on Facebook – eType will help you craft the message you really want to say, how you want to say it.
In short, we complete you!
OfflineLooks interesting, think I'll give it a try. Maybe it'll work automatically in the forum and PMs here, I hope.
Thank you Karen.
OfflineJust uninstalled it.
The little box popped up when I installed it saying that it was downloading the current version. I had other things to do, so left it alone while I went off to do them. I came back to it 3 hours later and the little box was still there, same message.
So I closed the window. 5 seconds later the window opened againg by it's self and the message popped up on my screen again. So I closed it again. 5 seconds later it popped up again. The window would always stay on top too, so I couldn't ignore it by hiding it behind another window.
Next I opened the program so I could check and hopefully change a setting to get the pop up window to stop. Tried changing a couple settings, the window kept popping up.
Checked their website FAQs. Didn't see anything that looked like it would help, altho to be honest, I wasn't about to click on all those "more" links on the FAQ page, at that point I was getting too ticked off at that pop up window being in the way all the time.
After a half hour of trying to get rid of the pop up window, I gave up. It's gone now without me even getting to really try it out.
