OfflineFunny you say that, Locutus. Lately I've been wondering if we've actually met before. You seem a lot like someone I knew from another community… but I don't recall seeing the name before, so unless you've used other names on the net I can't be sure.
As for your question, I answered that very question in another thread. Basically, I don't want to see myself as a competitor to dotTech. There are many reasons for that, but the main ones are that TM was actually envisioned before dotTech ever existed and I want it to prove itself in its own right rather than rely on a later (and admittedly stronger) project; and I have too much respect for Ashraf to want to ever stab him in the back. There's also another reason – database corruption crashed the site for two months, and I only got it back up to working order last week. I didn't want to direct people to a broken website. But I may add it to my signature later. Tell the truth, it is the best of the four websites I own, except for Gamerpedia – I don't know which of those two I'd rate better.
How long as TM been around?
It really wouldn't be that bad to post it in your signature, after all, all your other sites are in it. Besides, that's how the internet works: person one finds a site, person two posts a new site, person one finds it, everyone is happy.
I'm gonna check out Gamerpedia now--looks cool! But the first thing I noticed is that its logo is still the default MediaWiki logo. (Might wanna change that. :P)

But to answer your question: Technically Motivated was planned out in 2006, but it wasn't until September 2010 the official website actually went live on the internet. So officially I'm wrong about it being older; yet technically I'm kind of right. And I've added the site to my signature now – I was only hesitant because I wanted to make sure it actually worked. Like I said, it had been down until a week ago.
As for Gamerpedia, you wouldn't be the first to mention the logo. I had a logo designed – you can see it if you look up mine or GamerpediaTeam's User Account – but it won't fit the limited space requirements of the default theme – the logo would go outside the box and get partially covered up by the site. I tried digitally resizing it using FastStone, but it added really ugly black shadows around the edges. So I don't know if I can get it to work.
The problem is I'm not a good artist in absolutely ANY form, so while I'd like to design my own logo for the site, I simply lack the skill; so for this revamped site, I haven't yet bothered putting up a logo at all. That's why I am currently seeking help on the matter – anyone willing to lend a hand? I want the logo to communicate the main themes of "Gaming" and "Wiki" but not appear specific to a type of game, if you know what I mean. It has to fit within a 150px width, too.
To return to the topic of this topic: Since I didn't get an answer, I posted about the giveaway on my blog anyway.
Offline…Are we actually going to discuss the actual subject of this topic at all?
