Thanks for the info, but can we please not put these site-traffic posts in the forums and label them as "giveaways" – they're not. Or better still, as I think Locutus mentioned a few weeks back, can someone start a separate section on (spam) contests. Because this is just spam as far as I'm concerned.

# phoenix_rising

Well said.

Ok, Tomb is new here (welcome BTW) and may be excused …

or perhaps its more suspicious that one of initial posts is about a contest…

@ jumbi: I think the benefit of the doubt is in order. And also, welcome Tomb (kinda creepy name, but as Locutus would say, whatever floats your boat!).

Seconded,

Not wishing to be too hard on the "newbee" (welcome Smile ) BUT, this type of post is well and truly out of order. Yell

I did not want to be the first to criticise so take this opportunity to advise caution when making such promotions – else face the onsuing wrath.

AND a repeat of one already given in another thread topic – PLAGIARISM in my book.! Yell
The proper place would have been as a REPLY to the original post, NOT to create a new topic.

However, as phoenix_rising said, just this once, "the benefit of the doubt is in order."

Hope you learn from this incident, Tomb, and develop into a valued member of our community. Smile

Hi Ashraf and other member

you all know that I am new here and I do not know your policy about this type of contest , I know that in some other tech forum this type limited licence contest did not allowed but before post this when I saw a old threat in the front page of freebies forum which was  http://dottech.org/forums/freebies/contest-a-squared-anti-malware-4-5-free/  this thread and it is posted under Freebies forum

not under http://dottech.org/forums/freebies/giveaway-thread/

then I think that his type of thread allowed here and I post this thread.

Now If you think that by post this thread I break your Rule You just delete this thread.

Thank you

@ Tomb: It's cool. Ashraf has set up a sub-forum now below "Freebies" for "Limited licence freebies" (aka spam/site traffic/dubiously attained product comps). So you can post them there from here on in.
